The body of a six-year-old boy has been recovered just hours after his mother told police she had thrown him off a bridge.
Jillian McCabe, 34, called 911 emergency number on Monday afternoon to report throwing her son, London, off the Yaquina Bay Bridge, a historic bridge on the Oregon coast.
The boy's body was found hours later in the bay after it was spotted near the Embarcadero Resort, police said.
Detectives found McCabe on the bridge and arrested her on suspicion of aggravated murder, murder and manslaughter.
She is being held on $750,000 bail.

"The fire department got there first and recovered the body," Coast Guard spokesman Jonathan Klingenberg told NBC News.
"It's absolutely a tragedy."
Boats and a helicopter from the US Coast Guard helped in the hours-long search.
NBC said a woman by the same name had launched an appeal on social media for funding to help take care of her autistic son and her husband Matt, who has multiple sclerosis.
On his profile page he says that his son, London, is six years old.
The Yaquina Bay arched bridge, one of the most famous on the Oregon coast, opened in 1936. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
